Travel: Namib Desert
The Namib Desert is considered to be the oldest desert in the world. It has less than 10 mm of rain annually and is almost completely barren. It’s sand dunes, which at more than 300 meters high, are among the tallest sand dunes in the world.
Being in Windhoek for a short assignment, I had 3 days left to cross the country twice and climb “Big Daddy” (probably the tallest dune on earth). Walking on sand means making two steps forward and one back. Equipped with two cameras but little water it feels like climbing Mount Everest. Sossusvlei is magic – one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to.
